About Huang Doudou


Graduated from Beijing Dance Academy, Huang Doudou is a First Class National Artist and an Expert of Ministry of Culture who receives the State Council Special Allowance. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of Chinese Dancers Association,

Director of China’s Primary and Secondary Education Dance Development Committee, Artistic Director of the Shanghai Song and Dance Ensemble, and a distinguished professor of Huaqiao University.
His famous works include: “Drunken Drum”, “The Soul of Terra Cotta Warrior”, “Chinese Kung Fu”, ”Protect the Yellow River”, “Su Wu”, “Sparkling Red Star”, “Mu Lan”, “Fen Mo Chun Qiu”, “Sentinels Under Neon Lights”, “Yu Ming”. Doudou’s choreography credits include: “Six Dance Imageries from the Zhou Dynasty”, “Qin Qi Shu Hua”, “Spirit of Martial Arts”, “Dance of the Ink”, “Rong”, “The Yellow Earth”, “Zhuang Zhou Dream”, “Jing Jie”, “Bolero”, “Zhu Yun”, Dance Film “Butterfly Lovers”, The Metropolitan Opera “The First Emperor”, “Les Contes d’Hoffmann”; His director credits: “The Sky Outside the Window”, “Zen Shaolin”, “Red Mountain Goddess”. 

About the Lecture

Invited by Sino US Performing Arts Organization, the renowned Chinese dancer, Huang Doudou, will travel to Los Angeles for a dance lecture in July 2015. His presentation will feature his various performances and notable choreographies, share with audience stories behind the works and the artist, and showcase the Chinese dance culture.
